Trauma 101

In Person or Virtual Training. Estimated 1-hour in length. If requested by agency/business, length of training can be tailored to the needs of organization. There is no cost associated with this training.  

In this training, participants will learn…

  • What is trauma and why being trauma informed is important

  • Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma  

  • How trauma impacts adults

  • The power of resilience through positive experiences

  • Foundations of a Trauma Informed Care Approach

 

Mental Health & Substance Use 101

In Person or Virtual Training. Estimated 1-hour in length. If requested by agency/business, length of training can be tailored to the needs of organization. There is no cost associated with this training.

 

In this training, participants will learn…

  • How to understand, identify, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges.

  • Skills to support someone who may be developing or experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis.

  • Resources available within Huron County to assist someone affected by mental health and/or substance use challenges.

 

Wellness & Resiliency

In Person or Virtual Training. Estimated 1-hour in length. If requested by agency/business, length of training can be tailored to the needs of organization. There is no cost associated with this training.

 

In this training, participants will learn…

  • How to identify causes, signs, and symptoms of stress 

  • Components and Benefits of Wellness

  • Strategies to reduce stress & increase resilience

 

Mental Health First Aid Certification Course

In Person or Virtual Training. Length of training is estimated 6.5 hours. Minimum 20 participants required to host a class. There is no cost associated with this training.

 

In this training, participants will learn…

  • What is mental health?

  • What is a crisis?

  • De-escalation tips

  • What is substance use?

  • Early Intervention

  • Recovery

  • Self-Care

  • Local supports and services
